We visited the guesthouse in the Imperial Palace garden.
It is open to the public and I booked through the Internet several weeks before.
The beauty of each room, corridor, decoration and garden is certainly breathtaking.
Corridor with elegant lanterns
Bamboo flower basket made by a master who is a living national treasure
Woven fabric tapestry with the setting sun behind the mountains in Arashiyama, area famous for bamboo forest
Sliding doors of the stage with delicate gold and silver work by a master goldsmith
Gold and silver thin threads are made by unthinkable laborious work
Gold decorations are placed just only to hide the head of the nails
This long table is made of one piece of wood block pasted with Japanese lacquer
Beautiful ‘koi’ carp fish
Guests enjoy boating in this ‘koi’ pond.
